Linhild Laekirsdottir
Character Sheets
Appearance
Pale-skinned with blond hair, Lina is a typical specimen of an Ilverani elf. She is slender of figure with almost unblemished skin, as she does not actually ever do physical work. That's what magic is for.
She does not often speak loudly either. If she wished for you to hear her, she would use magic to amplify her voice or make only you hear her words.
A squirrel follows her around. It has tiny furry wings.
Backstory
When you've spent almost a century at the Magaambya, teaching does become boring. At least that is how Linfridr "Lina" Laekirsdottir has felt for at least a decade. She's tried everything, really. Good teacher, bad teacher, enthusiastic teacher, indifferent teacher, teacher that does extracurricular activities, teacher that leads clubs, teacher with benefits, teacher that does "extracurricular activities", funny teacher, dull teacher, well-prepared teacher, doorstep teacher, ...
To summarise, Professor Laekirsdottir needed a change. And where else to go if not the greatest tournament of them all? For years, Lina has read all about the Ruby Phoenix tournament, gobbling up all that there is to know about sorceress Hao Jin. Someone older and wiser with more experience, who has actually done planar travel and wasn't chained to a desk for decades. Additionally, it is rumoured that all the contestants at the tournament are delivering sub-stellar performances. This will not do for the return of the Ruby Phoenix!
So, who needs a pension fund anyway? Certainly not this elf with plenty of lifespan left to her. Her adventuring and travelling days might be almost a century gone, but if there's one thing you keep sharp teaching at Magaambya, it's your expertise in spell casting.
And Lina has a lot more to offer than just what the school taught her. She has honed her mind into a powerful weapon indeed. Add to that the teaching she received in her homeland of Irriseen from Baba Yaga's descendants, Lina is not trifled with.
And while the city of Goka is a long way distant, it's not like she hasn't travelled before. Lina spent her adolescence in the town of Whitethrown, a third-generation outcast from the Ilverani elves that live in the frozen wastes of the Crown of the World, her grandfather having been a half-elf and her grandmother a Twilight Speaker, with her father similarly corrupted, there was no way for Lina to grow up with her father or mother's parents tribes. Eventually, she leaves the cold north for warmer pastures, accepting a job at the Magaambya.
